Phoenix was one of a handful of North American cities picked to participate in Earth Hour. The WWF, which sponsored the event, says more than 400 cities and 60 million worldwide took part. John Koza discussed a national effort to use the popular vote instead of the electoral college to elect the president.

The Department of Interior created a man-made flood in the Colorado River by releasing water from Glen Canyon dam in early March.
